The National Library, designed by Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjakovič, is one of the most interesting places in the center of Pristina. Built in 1982, the library has 99 translucent domes and its outer part is completely covered with a metal cage. While some dislike her aesthetic, her unique style is highly regarded by others. The 16,500 square meter building includes reading rooms as well as amphitheatres. The domes, which could symbolize the traditional hat Albanian, the folds, serve as natural light wells.
