The Mausoleum Of Sultan Murat

The mausoleum was built in the 14th century in honor of Sultan Murat I, who was killed in the historic battle duchamp des merlesen 1389. The mausoleum, in Ottoman Baroque style, is located in Mazgit, just 7 kilometers west of Pristina. The battle, of great importance to the region, was won by the Ottomans but ended in the death of the leaders of the two warring parties. Many myths and songs were inspired by this battle, especially the death of the Sultan. The Serbian myth says that the Sultan was assassinated by Milosh Kopiliqi who, by means of a ruse, had insinuated himself in the enemy and stabbed the Sultan in his own tent
