Overlooking the Old Town, Prizren Fortress, which dates from the sixth century CE, became a fortification in its own right during the Ottoman period. A steep climb a little behind the city center allows to climb to the top of the fortress which offers a magnificent view of the city, the Pashtrik mountains and the Bistrica valley.
